Accounting/Office Assistant
Location: Ashburn, VA
Compensation: DOE
Level of Experience: Experienced
Position Overview:
The Accounting/Office Manager will manage the accounting and administrative activities of a hosted IT service provider – including managing subsidiary level accounting, billing, A/R, A/P, HR admin, customer/vendor contract admin, and facilities, and supporting parent company requirements and relationships. This is a front line position supporting the leadership team, sales & marketing team and employees.
Qualifications
- AS/BS Degree in Accounting
- Proven track record with 3-5 years experience in accounting
- Recurring revenue service/technology business experience a plus
- Must possess strong analytical skills, including spreadsheets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed
Responsibilities:
- Direct day-to-day activities related to subsidiary level accounting, finance, management reporting and administration – including month end closing and financial statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing and collections, purchasing, etc.
- Work with parent company to establish and maintain subsidiary level accounting policies, practices, procedures and controls
- Maintain subsidiary level books and records on all revenue, expense, asset and liability transactions
- Prepare and analyze monthly subsidiary level financial statements and supporting schedules/write-ups/reports and recommendations
- Interface with parent company accounting/finance staff and 3rd party audit/tax firms related to year-end audits, accounting issues, and compliance matters
- Subsidiary level liaison for human resources administration managed at parent company level - payroll, sales commission tracking, PTO tracking, benefits, compliance, etc.
- Handle subsidiary level facilities/office issues
- Maintain customer and vendor contracts, including database outlining key terms and tracking PO’s, renewal notices, etc.
- Assist in process improvement and reporting initiatives to increase efficiencies and improve performance – such as purchase order process, sales order process, billing process, etc.
- Support sales department by sending sales material, coordinating sales events and seminars, etc.
